Our People
Chris (now Grampy) opened the first iteration of Distec Supply Inc fifty years ago in 1974. He has almost 60 years of experience in MRO procurement with an emphasis on electrical and industrial products.
Paul (now Dad) started out in the warehouse in first grade when Chris took him to work during summer vacation and has been working for the company on and off ever since. Coming on full-time in 2010, Paul has helped grow Distec Supply Inc's alliance business almost from day one.
Polo (just Polo) was first hired back in the 90s, and we asked him to come back in 2018 to take care of our growing outside sales needs. He does a fantastic job of helping our customers.
The third generation (the kids) came to work to help pay for school and have stuck around. Cara is the sales manager, Josh handles expediting, and Beca and Zac are order entry.
NASPO Contract
We are a member of the Grainger Small Business Alliance, but we have built our own supply network of vendors in a wide variety of categories over the past few decades. We leverage the internet to find you what you need.
We quote from the California-approved leveraged NASPO contract #7-18-51-02, which covers nearly all the 1.5 million-plus items in Grainger's catalog. (Our subcontract number is 7-18-51-02.05.) You have your choice of purchasing either on or off the NASPO contract.
Using the NASPO contract gives you some 'perks': it allows you to purchase without needing three bids and has a six-figure, single PO dollar cap, so you have the ability to 'one and done' your purchases through the contract. No more having to wait on multiple bids! (Check with your procurement office.)
